Quality childhood education is essential to the cognitive and social development of a child. It plays a vital role in the personality formation of a child as proven by social psychologist because, it is the period that children develop linguistic, emotional and regulatory skills that predict their later functioning in many domains (Wool flock and Perry2012) and studies have proven that personality is formed before age 6.
Age 0-6 remains a crucial for every child because the child is in the process of learning and develops competent skills based on the experience of nurture and nature that the child is exposed to the world around. Children within this age bracket deserve conducive environments that stimulate proper cognitive, physical and social development. A conducive quality education environment helps stimulate the intellectual and academic capabilities of the child, as quality education remains the bedrock for all other academic attainments because it prepares a child for a purpose driven life. Children who are exposed to quality childhood education usually perform better academically compared to their peers who did not have access to quality childhood education. Socially, quality childhood education helps the child cultivate appropriate behaviours, build emotional maturity and good self-esteem through quality interactions with peers and adults. Although the developmental capacity of children varies, it is imperative that parents’ guide and encourage a conducive environment for proper child development.
Lets talk humanity initiative is aggressively engaged in providing quality childhood education for under privileged children by building schools, libraries and providing teaching aids for schools across Nigeria in line with our vision of preserving beautiful childhood memories.
